Falco Lombardi is an anthropomorphic member of an avian race and ace pilot of the Star Fox team. He is also a good friend and friendly rival to Fox McCloud. Falco has appeared alongside his wingmates in every Star Fox game to date, and usually retains his brash, cool, and collected behavior.

His home world is likely Corneria, but due to a comment he said in the Star Fox 64 game his world of origin could have been another world, called Zoness. After enlisting into the Cornerian Flight Academy (where he first acquired his pilot's license), he dropped out and became a rogue. He became the leader of a mercenary gang called the Hot Rodders. He was with them for two years until he was asked to join the Star Fox team.

He played a major role during the Lylat Wars. He was in fact horrified once he saw the damage that had been dealt to Corneria City. At Zoness, he was angered when some of Andross's fleet had polluted Zoness.

For the next four years since Andross's defeat, he had done his part in missions to round up the rest of the Venomian army. However they weren't as exciting as their previous missions, and so Falco grew bored. Eventually, he gradually became more and more uncooperative to the point of leaving the Star Fox team...
